I have handled a broad range of civil matters, including general commercial litigation, construction defect cases, securities fraud cases, employment litigation, contract disputes, shareholder derivative actions, corporate governance, and partnership disputes. Many of these cases have involved sophisticated opposing parties represented by well-known regional or national law firms.
I have also handled regulatory investigations and subpoenas involving various local, state, and federal agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, Colorado Division of Securities, and Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division.

The process of building a solid base of evidence and a persuasive theory of the case begins before a matter is ever filed and continues through targeted discovery, intelligent motion practice, and strong trial presentation. Litigation is like chess, and it is important to think about how today's decision will impact tomorrow's options. Lawyers who can think ahead of their opponents win cases and force settlements. Throughout the process of developing and executing our strategy, I strive to maintain a level of integrity and technical skill that builds credibility with the court, the jury, regulators, and opposing counsel. More importantly, I work to find leverage which can be used to support an efficient settlement strategy if or when the time is right.
TECHNOLOGY
I rely heavily on technology to organize and present your evidence in an effective and intelligent way. Typically, I strive to be ready to try any case with just a laptop and appropriate presentation software. Case files, documents, and information are organized electronically so that one attorney can master a client file and handle a matter that might be staffed by several attorneys at a larger firm. Like large firms, I offer you the opportunity (in cases that would benefit from it) to use sophisticated third-party document review and management technology. This technology allows me to review and control voluminous information and often produces better results for less money relative to other approaches to information management. I believe that being personally responsible for all material aspects of a client matter, and personally engaged in the technology used to manage a case, allows me to be more familiar with the facts and the law and to analyze and present information more quickly and effectively. Faster integration of information is better preparation, and better preparation wins cases.
RESULTS
I know that my clients come to my firm for results. I begin every matter by defining the client's goals and working with them to outline a plan to achieve them. Often, this process will focus on identifying weaknesses and leverage points that can be used to force a matter to resolution. Another important part of my results oriented focus is a focus on early case evaluation and organization. Many times the best results go to the best prepared parties. Just as often, the most important decision you will make with counsel is whether your case is worth filing at all.
